Pork vindaloo, a culinary masterpiece originating from the Anglo-Indian community of Goa, presents a tantalising medley of tangy, spicy, and succulent flavours that delight the taste buds. This special dish carries influences from Portuguese cuisine and stands as a delicacy suitable for a delectable lunch or dinner.

Crafted with a harmonious combination of freshly ground and roasted spices, pork vindaloo boasts a distinct paste infused with an essential element of palm vinegar, which can be further enhanced with the addition of wine to elevate its flavours.

While sharing the list of the best pork dishes in the world, Taste Atlas wrote in the caption, "These are the best pork dishes in the world, according to your votes!" Take a look:

On their website, Taste Atlas gave a brief description of vindaloo as "A flavourful curry dish that is popular in England and the Indian regions of Goa and Konkan. It is typically made with marinated pork, but it can also be made with other meats or even paneer. The name of the dish stems from the mispronounced Portuguese dish called carne de vinha d'alhos, meaning meat marinated in wine vinegar and garlic."

Many other popular items appeared on the list, including pulled pork from the USA, porchetta from Italy, and char siu from China. However, carnitas from Mexico topped the list.

Their Twitter post has gone viral ever since they shared the list, with 11k likes and many followers sharing their views.

While some were delighted to see some of their favourites on the list, some suggested more dishes. The post has received comments like:

"Carnitas over Cochinita? Never! Carnitas shouldn't even be on this list; it's an overrated dish!"

"You've never ever tasted Leitão da bairrada!! It's number one, no doubt!!!"

"Not a single Middle Eastern dish made the list."
