None of the veg options in India makes sense if you do not have paneer as one of it. Paneer is the most common replacement for chicken in India and it is used in almost all of the dishes as a meat substitute. Paneer shawarma is one of the most common varieties of the dish right after chicken shawarma.

Soyabean Shawarma

The biggest advantage of this dish is that soya has the texture that is very similar to chicken and mutton. The taste difference is minimal if you are having soya shawarma. It has similar taste and similar texture and laden with spices, you will be fooled to think that you are actually eating a chicken shawarma. this dish can be tried even if you are a nonvegetarian and you want to challenge your taste buds.

Mushroom Shawarma

Again, something that has a texture very similar to that of meat, mushroom shawarma is equally delicious and healthy as well. This dish is particularly rare, and available at very few street stores, although places completely dedicated to shawarma mostly have this variety.

Chickpea Shawarma

This is one of the most underrated varieties of shawarma but once you try it, you will understand why so many people love this. Chickpeas full of protein, so it is an ideal meat replacement anyway. The texture of chickpea gives the shawarma a whole different taste and it is something that is unique. So, if you are looking for some change in taste, then chickpea shawarma is the dish for you to try.
