For the finest experience, choose a high-end bourbon that is both smooth and robust in flavour. The recipe works well with just about any bourbon whiskey. Limoncello is a sweet lemon liqueur that adds tang, zest and sweetness to any drink. Several modern microdistilleries also make a superb limoncello, so it wouldn't hurt to inquire about a distillery in your area. You can buy limoncello, but if you want to try something new, you can always create your own.

The variety of teas available is practically limitless. A high-quality, neutral-flavoured tea, such as black tea, is ideal for this beverage.

Many types of tea call for different steeping times. Teas may be steeped in less than 5 minutes using the hot brewing technique, which extracts more flavour. Tea is best served cold, so once it has reached peak taste, put it in the fridge until you're ready to make a drink. Put the tea in the freezer for 5 to 10 minutes if you need to cool it down rapidly. Even this can be ramped up if the tea is divided into more manageable servings.
