If you haven’t been living under a rock for the past two days, you would know about one of the most-awaited Bollywood weddings. Yes, we are indeed talking about the wedding of power couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, that finally took place yesterday (on April 14, 2022). Well, after seeing each other for about five years, the two tied the knot in a super intimate ceremony in Mumbai. The ceremony that took place at the couple's residence in Vastu at Pali Hill, Bandra, was attended by close family and friends including Ranbir’s mother Neetu Kapoor, sisters Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Kareena Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor. Also in attendance were Alia’s parents Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan along with sisters Shaheen and Pooja Bhatt.
As soon as Alia shared the pictures of the wedding on her Instagram handle, they soon started going viral in no time on social media, garnering immense love and blessings from industry colleagues, friends, fans and followers. And like everyone, we too are in awe of the adorable pictures. The pictures are proof of how the couple are truly in love, dazzling in pastel-coloured Sabyasachi outfits. Take a look at Alia Bhatt’s post:
Can you blame us if we are drooling too much? Along with the pictures, Alia shared a heart-felt note that read, "Today, surrounded by our family and friends, at home...in our favourite spot - the balcony we've spent the last 5 years of our relationship - we got married.” She added “we can’t wait to build more memories together … memories that are full of love, laughter, comfortable silences, movie nights, silly fights, wine delights and Chinese bites.” Seems like Alia and Ranbir are Chinese food lovers!
While these pictures are sure melting our hearts, and our Instagram feed, some more inside pictures made their way on social media, and one such picture that drew our attention. Guess what it was about? The wedding cake. That's right!
Kripa Mehta, one of Alia's best friends, shared pictures from what looks like the reception post the wedding ceremony. In the pictures we could see the lovely couple cutting a beautiful three-tier cake to mark the beginning of their new journey. The cake looked like a lemon yellow coloured cake with delicious cream frosting and flower motifs made on it. There were also a star flower motif that made the cake look super elegant and classic. In another Instagram stories by Kripa, we saw the newly-wed couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt raising toast to "love, togetherness forever and ever". Check out the picture:
Doesn’t that look like a happily ever after? If Alia’s post wasn't enough, these celebratory pictures sure have us asking for more!
On the work front, the newly-wed couple will soon be sharing screen for Ayan Mukherjee's upcoming fantasy-drama "Brahmastra Part One: Shiva". The film is slated for a 2022 release.
