Now, of course, you can resort to greeting cards and teddy bears, but if you want to turn it up a notch, it would be a good idea to add a ‘personal’ touch to the celebrations. One way to go about is to cook something from scratch, putting effort into something rarely goes unnoticed, and no you need not prepare a three-course meal to vie for your loved one’s attention, sometimes even a simple dessert can do the trick. Add some chocolate to the mix and you have a fool-proof winner. 

There’s so much you can do with a single jar of a chocolate hazelnut spread if you are willing to explore. Use them in puddings, cakes, breads, croissants and tarts. This delicious recipe of Nutella Tart by chef Pankaj Chauhan, Pastry Chef, Shangri-La Eros New Delhi spells id indulgence overload. The tart or a sweet, baked dish is made with butter, eggs, sugar, flour and vanilla paste. The filling of the tart is intensely thick and luscious chocolate ganache made with Nutella, chocolates, cream and hazelnut.

Nutella Chocolate Tart portion size-4 

Ingredients 

  • 300 gms flour  
  • 100 gms Whole egg 
  • 200 gms Butter 
  • 100 gms Sugar 
  • 2 gms vanilla paste

Filling 

  • 100 gms Nutella  
  • 150 gms Chocolate 
  • 100 gms Cream Dlecta 
  • 100 gms Hazelnut

Method of Preparation 

For Tart:

  1. Whisk the butter and sugar together in a small bowl 
  2. Add the egg one by one and pulse to combine 
  3. Add all the dry ingredients and make a dough 
  4. Freeze it to line the tart 
  5. After an hour roll the dough to 2mm thickness 
  6. Bake at 200c for 15 mins.

For Filling: 

  1. Heat cream in a saucepan 
  2. Pour it on chocolate and make the ganache. 
  3. Add Nutella, butter and blend it well 
  4. Pour the ganache into the tart 
  5. Keep it in the refrigerator for 30 mins and serve.

 You can also pair the tart with ice cream, but the dessert is pretty decadent on its own. Happy Valentine’s Day everybody.
