To make everyday meals more exciting and satisfying, this sabzi asks you to replace vegetables with raw papaya that is further tossed up in spices and freshly grated coconut is added to make it more delightful. The flavour of fresh, creamy and tender grated coconut poured over soft and freshly cooked juicy papaya slowly and smoothly trickles down to every bite you take that makes you and your tummy feel internally pleased with the aromatic creaminess. With this, let’s begin to know about the steps and procedure of making this very special raw papaya sabzi.
Ingredients-
- 1 papaya
- 1 cup grated coconut
- Green chillies
- Curry leaves
- Mustard seeds’
- Cumin seeds
- Salt as per taste
- 1 tablespoon oil
- ½ tablespoon turmeric powder
- Coriander leaves ( for garnishing)
Method for preparation-
- Wash and peel off the papaya, then cut into small pieces.
- Now heat a pan with oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chilli, turmeric powder and salt as per taste. Saute the mixture for a while.
- After the seeds begin to crackle, add grated coconut and then papaya. Stir and mix them both with the masalas. Cook on low-medium flame.
- When papaya becomes soft and seems well coated with all the ingredients, turn off the stove.
- Your raw papaya sabzi is ready! Garnish some finely chopped coriander leaves over the sabzi.
