The past two years have been rather difficult for the movie business with cinema halls and theatres being shut for a long period of time, when they were not shut, they were operating with limited occupancy. Now with films like Gangubai Kathiyawadi and Kashmir Files, we are hearing about cash registers ringing all over again. Actress Preity Zinta was much too excited to catch a show of ‘Kashmir Files’ recently. The actress was inside a movie theatre ‘after 3 years’, and she was not alone. She also had her favourite snack for company. Not popcorns or nuggets, but the actress’ favourite Movietime snack is samosa. Her Instagram story she shared on Thursday featured two samosas with a bowl of tamarind chutney and coriander chutney each. "Movie time yane ke samosa time", she wrote in her caption. Although the samosas looked rather thin, they did appear to be very crispy and yummy which were enough to trigger our cravings for samosas.

Samosas are triangular, stuffed deep-fried pastries that are a hit during snack time. They are inspired from the Middle-eastern ‘Sambusak’, Sambusak arrived in India during the medieval era and became our humble ‘samosa’ in a matter of time. Samosas, usually have a spicy potato filling, but you can surely get more creative.
