‘Anda ka halwa’ also known as Dimer Halwa in Bangla, is stated to have originated from Pakistan. It is a festive dish often consumed during popular Muslim festivals like ‘Shab-e-Barat’ and ‘Ramadan’ for the iftar meal. 



‘Ande ka halwa’ can replace ‘Suji ka halwa’ during festivals or even when someone comes over. Moreover, you can even serve this amazing dessert among your friends during get-togethers and kitty parties and flaunt your brilliant cooking skills. Though it takes around 30 minutes to be cooked, you will not regret spending your time when you have this delight on your plate. Wondering how to make it? Here is how you can make ‘Ande ka Halwa’ at home.

Ingredients 

  • 8 eggs 
  • ½ cup ghee 
  • 1 cup-soaked dried fruits 
  • ½ cup sugar (can also take diet sugar if required) 
  • 1 cup milk 
  • ½ green cardamom powder 
  • Saffron strands 

Method 

  • Take a non-stick pan and add ½ cup ghee to it. 
  • Add the dry fruits and sauté for 4 to 5 minutes 
  • Break the eggs into the pan one by and let them cook while stirring continuously 
  • Add sugar and mix 
  • Cook for another 2 minutes 
  • Add milk and cook for 4-5 minutes or till the milk gets absorbed 
  • Add cardamom powder and mix 
  • Transfer it to a mixing bowl 
  • Garnish with saffron and serve
