Taking to her Instagram story, the actor shared an image of the final result of her first-ever attempt at baking caramel hot pecan pie. The picture is a testament to her successful attempt as the caption read, “Made my first caramel hot pecan pie. Nothing cosier than warm pie when you’re under the weather.”

While most people would rest or take medicines when not feeling well, Tara Sutaria adds feathers to her chef’s hat by successfully attempting to bake a complicated dessert on the first try. The sweet decadent looks delicious as well as healthy.

While Tara Sutaria didn’t share the recipe for caramel hot pecan pie, here are some do’s and don’ts to keep in mind if you are planning to attempt to bake the dessert at home. Note these so your first attempt can be a success too.

Use Fresh Pecans 

Baking or cooking anything for the first time or 100th time, always go for fresh and quality ingredients if you want the dish to be a success. Fresh pecans bring out the best texture and flavour to the recipe. If you use stale nuts, the pie will not come out as well as you hoped for.

Don’t Overbake

The trick with baking is to always stay alert and not cook the ingredients beyond the expected time. If you leave the dish in the microwave for an extra five seconds, its texture and taste can be ruined. Since it’s a pie, the filling should remain jiggly when you take it out of the oven and set it at room temperature.

Cook Ingredients

Two of the crucial steps to acing the recipe of caramel hot pecan pie are toasting the nuts and achieving the right consistency of caramel.
