Method

  1. Put rice in a sizable bowl. Once under running water after three to four thorough washes. Now fill a pot with 8 cups of water and bring it to a boil. When all the water has been absorbed and evaporated, add the rice to the pot and continue cooking.
  2. In a pan, heat refined oil. Add the chopped ginger, chana dal, and mustard seeds. Spend a minute sautéing them. Add the peanuts and stir until they are cooked. Cashew nuts, curry leaves, and asafoetida are now added. Well combine all the components.
  3. Add the chopped onions, stir, and cook until golden brown. Add the salt to taste along with the diced tomatoes now. Tomatoes should be cooked for 6 to 8 minutes, or until mushy.
  4. Add the turmeric powder and Kashmiri red chilli powder at this point and simmer for one minute. Add desi ghee last to give the masala a great flavour and aroma.
  5. Now include cooked rice and finely chopped coriander into the tomato masala. Mix thoroughly, then turn off the heat after the final minute of cooking.
  6. Your mouthwatering Tomato Rice is now prepared for serving. Enjoy!
