A few days ago, a new kind of sandwich - aamras croissant - went viral on the internet and left netizens divided. After Salad Day, a pan-India restaurant chain known for featuring one-of-a-kind healthy salads on its menu, added aamras croissant as a new addition, people on the internet could not understand how the fusion of Italian and Indian cuisine would taste.

However, actor Tamannaah Bhatia along with director Collin DCunha ordered the croissant to give it a try. The duo tried the viral Indian-Italian sandwich and called it ‘nice’. Sharing the story on Instagram, Collin DCunha wrote, “Tamannah Bhatia (@tamannahspeaks) and me reviewed the viral Aam Ras Croissant, courtesy Ayesha Raza (@ayeshiraza)”

Actor Ayesha Raza also received a few goodies from Salad Days a couple of days ago. She took to Instagram to share it and wrote, “Thank you @saladdaysco for this bag full of deliciousness.. And I finally got to try the super trending aamras croissant. Yummm”

Looks like the new addition by Salad Days is celeb-approved. In the world, where people are making gulab jamun dosa and idli ice cream, aamras croissant is an experiment that brings two cuisines together. A user on Instagram called it ‘Indo-French cuisine’. Another one shared their personal opinion after tasting it and said, “This actually tastes good.”

Other Croissant Flavours That You Must Try

Not just aamras croissant, there are many nutty and fruity flavours of croissant that you can experiment with. The fluffy and flaky texture of the French puff pairs well with crunchy nuts and sweet notes from fruits. Here are a few that you can give a try.

Pistachio Croissants

A few years ago, a video went viral on TikTok in which an NYC, USA, bakery was spotted selling pistachio croissants. They made spiral croissants by rolling the pastry dough, topping each with custard cream, and garnished with crushed pistachios. The images on the internet look quite tempting.

Chocolate Croissants

In January 2024, a viral TikTok video introduced the world with flat croissant cookies. Though it started a culinary discussion across the world, netizens seemed impressed with the experiment. The person introduced croissant dippings in various flavours, including mango, matcha, strawberry, pistachio, chocolate, etc. Otherwise, you can easily find chocolate-filled croissants in many bakeries.

Pumpkin Pie Croissants

While making croissants, you can either follow the traditional recipe and bake them. Once the croissants are ready, you can fill them with spiced pumpkin puree to add flavour to the French baked goods. You can pair this with either a pumpkin-spiced latte or your choice of coffee.

Almond Croissants

Reportedly, almond croissants came into existence to prevent day-old croissants from going bad. After traditionally preparing the croissants, you can fill them with almond paste. Top them with sliced almonds and powdered sugar to make them irresistible to people.

Fruity Croissant

You can make fruity croissants by following the recipe of aamras croissants. Once your traditional croissants are ready, prepare a fruity and creamy sauce. You can use strawberries, berries, kiwi, pineapple, and any fruit of your choice. Fill the croissants with the fruity sauce and enjoy.
