The buzz around Swiggy refuses to die down. Amid the release of its IPO in the share market, the food aggregator platform has introduced ‘Project Next’. This new launch allows delivery partners to take their careers up a notch and become ‘white-collared’ workers.
The programme is a new initiative under ‘Swiggy Skills’ which is the parent launch in collaboration with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship by the Government of India. It will open a plethora of opportunities for the delivery partner to learn, grow, and climb the corporate ladder and take their career graph exponentially high.
What Is Swiggy’s ‘Project Next’?
The aim of the ‘Project Next’ by Swiggy is to help delivery partners expand their restaurants and help them advance in their careers. With rampant news around adulteration and shutting of restaurants, this project might help the best eateries and cloud kitchens shine out.
Through this project, delivery partners will be taking on the task of onboarding and managing the restaurant network on Swiggy in tier II and III cities.
According to Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy Food Marketplace, “This unique program helps delivery partners transition from ‘blue collar’ to ‘white collar’ workers.” He further wrote on LinkedIn, "You know who covers way more ground than any of us do? Our delivery partners. Not only do they know the chappa-chappa of every alley, but they are also super close to our restaurant partners and aware of their needs.”
The ‘Project Next’ will help delivery partners to build their careers with Swiggy. He mentioned that one of their partners Pawan has been collaborating with them for the last three years, and has now become a sales executive. Thus, Kapoor added that the new project launch will allow the partner to try their luck and hands in something beyond what they have been doing so far.
He mentioned in the post that it’s not just Pawan but hundreds of partners like him who have turned into sales executives and helped Swiggy onboard hundreds of restaurants across the country. “In 150+ growing markets like Vadodara, Amritsar, Nashik, Agra, and Dharwad, hundreds of delivery partners will be transitioning to sales executive roles. And help us serve restaurants even better,” his post further read.
If the project continues to help delivery partners advance in their careers, it might have a positive impact on the workforce as well as Swiggy.
