NOT much compares to the joy of savouring a delicious and satisfying meal. As an individual who prioritises homemade food, my everyday meals are meticulously planned to provide nourishment and balance. However, there are moments when I allow myself certain indulgences.

Breakfast: A Protein-Packed Beginning

As the saying goes, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and I wholeheartedly embrace this philosophy. To kickstart my mornings, I relish a wholesome and protein-rich breakfast. One of my go-to choices is a combination of eggs with poha or upma, accompanied by a refreshing glass of juice. This power-packed meal energises me and sets the tone for the rest of the day.

Lunch: A Nutritious Blend

For lunch, I opt for a healthy and balanced meal that includes jowar roti or bajra roti with dal, subzi (vegetable dish), and a side of salad. These traditional Indian dishes not only provide essential nutrients but also satisfy my taste buds with their vibrant flavours. The combination of roti, dal and subzi offers a perfect harmony of carbohydrates, proteins, and fiber, ensuring a satiating and wholesome lunch experience.

Evening: Here's The Tea!

While some may indulge in snacks during the evening, I find solace in a cup of tea. Its warmth creates a serene moment amidst the hustle and bustle of the day. By refraining from snacking, I maintain a disciplined approach to my eating habits, ensuring that my meals remain the highlight of my day.

Dinner: Light, Nourishing Fare

As the day winds down, I opt for an early dinner around 7-7.30 PM. This meal typically consists of light options such as salads, soups, or occasionally, a nutritious chilla or a comforting khichdi. These lighter dinner choices aid digestion and provide a sense of tranquility before retiring for the night.

Simple Joys

While I am committed to maintaining a healthy diet, I do have my indulgences. Bread with butter and a steaming cup of chai are irreplaceable. These simple pleasures are a delightful escape, offering a balance between discipline and satisfaction.

Favourites, & Guilty Pleasures

Among my favourites, mom's poha and paneer ki sabzi hold a special place. Their comforting flavours and the nostalgia associated with homemade meals make them an absolute delight at any time of the day. Additionally, banana is my go-to fruit, offering a sense of comfort and satiation. Paneer's creamy texture and versatility make it a beloved addition to many of my meals.

When it comes to guilty pleasures, I must confess my weakness for milkcake and cheesecake. These delectable treats are my moments of pure indulgence!

Always Room For Seconds!

While maintaining a balanced diet is essential, it's equally important to enjoy the occasional indulgence and savour life's gastronomic pleasures. For me, that includes relishing a double cheese pizza with peri-peri fries on days when I want to give my taste buds a treat.

Food has a remarkable ability to create lasting memories, evoke emotions, and connect people. As I continue to explore the world of flavours and cuisines, I cherish the joy that each meal brings.
