Food is an easy route to enter anyone’s heart and a good meal has the capacity to lighten your bad mood at any time of the day. When it comes to ordering online, we are very specific about our choices and want the food to be perfect. All of us have a few go-to options in dishes and restaurants on our food delivery apps and we don’t like experimenting with them.

Recently, Zomato has revealed its yearly report on food-ordering trends, where biryani and pizza have continued to dominate the charts. Our favourite biryani tops the list of most-ordered food on the particular delivery app with over 10.09 crore orders. Zomato said, total orders of biryani in 2023 could fill eight Qutub Minars in Delhi. Even on Swiggy's year-end report biryani has grabbed the first position in the most-ordered dish with 2.5 biryanis ordered per second in the current year.

The second position on Zomato’s report has been taken by Pizza. This Italian dish has got over 7.45 crore orders placed this year. The total orders can fill an area larger than five Eden Garden cricket stadiums, the delivery giant said. Pizza is followed by noodle bowls that holds the third position on the list, with over 4.55 crore orders in 2023. Zomato stated that the total yearly orders of noodles could wrap the earth 22 times.

Zomato has also crowned Bengaluru for the highest number of breakfast orders, while Swiggy called the city the cake capital. At the same time, Delhi earns the tag of higher late-night orders. Zomato has also revealed their largest single order of the year worth Rs. 46,273 that was placed by a Bengaluru user. Similarly, a Mumbai user placed 121 orders in just a single day.

Another unusual order includes a Bengaluru resident sending 1,389 gift orders worth ₹6.6 lakh via Zomato and a Mumbai user named Hanees crowned as the "nation's biggest foodie" by Zomato for placing about 3,580 orders in 2023, averaging nine orders in a day. So, what’s going to be your first order in the upcoming year 2024?
