As photographs of the pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant have been doing the rounds online, glimpses of what was served to the guests in attendance were also shared. For the party that took place in Cannes, an unusual savoury take on the classic Italian dessert – the tiramisu – was captured to be on offer by celebrity photographer Joseph Radhik. A description card for the Tomato Tiramisu that was displayed on an intricate white and blue card, labelled dairy and gluten read, ‘The traditional Tiramisu gets a tomato twist with an original recipe featuring a Burrata cheese emulsion, spicy tomato crumble, dried olives and fresh basil.’

As guests wandered into the venue at Cannes, glasses of champagne were handed to them by servers housed inside hedges. In addition to this, as the celebrations came to a conclusive evening in Portofino, guests had the opportunity to relish a variety of dishes from the tiny, pastel coloured food stalls. While one of the kiosks doled out cups of hot chocolate, another next to it was serving cheese toast stacks. The hot chocolate – which was available in three different variations included one that was made with rich ganache, strawberry-champagne marshmallow fluff and a sparkler flourish. The second variation used the same ganache as the base but with toasted coconut marshmallow fluff and coconut flakes heart meringue. For guests who preferred to go old-school, a hot chocolate option with vanilla bean marshmallow fluff and fresh flowers was also available.

Guests could also pick up bottles filled with yellow and red drinks to carry with them while they enjoyed performances by Andrea and Matteo Bocelli. Staying true to their desi heritage all the way in Italy, one of the stalls was also spotted serving up dilli ke kulche and kebabs. Guests could take their pick from the assortment of aloo-katlangi kebab, murg malai tikka, beetroot and goat cheese kebab, paneer tikka and Gilafi seekh kebabs. These mouth-watering bites came with the guests’ choice of kulcha – cheese-chilli, aloo-pyaaz and paneer as well as raita.

For anyone that wanted a bite of something sweet, a food stall served up marshmallows which were toasted to order. The delicious varieties included passionfruit with white chocolate, toasted coconut, raspberry and champagne, vanilla and pecan as well as blueberry with gold leaf. As everyone seemed to immerse themselves into the magical evening, a picture captured by photographer Signe Vilstrup showed Anant and Radhika engaging in a tender moment. Radhika was seen holding a mini cupcake with pink frosting, to match with her pink dress. Other details of the wedding also had many edible elements like oranges and cherry tomatoes on the vine, which became a part of the décor during the multiple celebrations.
