This year, on Holi, Shilpa celebrated with colours and water, but what featured on her food plate is too good to miss. Since it has been established that she loves sweet stuff, it won’t come as a surprise that she was drooling over a box of gujiyas this year. For the unfamiliar, gujiya is a half-moon-shaped Indian sweet that is sealed from the edges, deep-fried, and dipped in sugar syrup.
The mithai usually comes with a rich and sweet filling of khoya or mawa and nuts. Drenched in chashni, or sugar syrup, gujiyas are generally made during Holi. In states like Maharashtra, it is known as karanji, with slightly different fillings. Shilpa took to her Instagram stories to share a picture of a box full of gujiyas from @meethi_bywokintheclouds and captioned it by thanking them and saying, "Love these."
The gujiyas were carefully filled in pre-made rows in the box and topped with pistachio powder, coconut flakes, and kesar. They looked absolutely delish, and we can only imagine how many of those Shilpa wolfed down yesterday. In fact, this isn’t the only time she satiated her sweet tooth. After introducing a new menu at her restaurant, Bastian, in Mumbai, she personally sampled all the desserts and freakshakes that were set to roll out.
