“Hum Bhi Bana Lenge” the iconic line from Delhi-based entrepreneur, and angel investor Aman Gupta continues to be a rage on the internet, even though it has been more than two months since the Sony TV show Shark Tank India wrapped up. The phrase also made it to the newly revamped walls of Delhi’s Hauz Khas Social. The HKV Social, as it is famous known, made a comeback in its new and improved avatar on Saturday. The menu is also bigger and better this time, however, it is one special kind of kebab that has caught ‘Shark’ Aman Gupta’s attention.
In the year 2015, Aman Gupta and his friend Sameer Mehta co-founded boAt, an earwear audio and electronics brand. Since the two couldn’t afford big offices, they used the co-working space on the second floor of HKV social to work and build their product; making it one of the most successful start-ups to emerge in the past decade. The brand has been recognised on numerous occasions. Several Bollywood actors and cricketers like Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, Hardik Pandya have also been associated with the earwear brand in past.
Earlier this year, Aman posted a throwback picture of him and his friend in Hauz Khas fort, where he got candid about his journey. And on Monday, he posted a series of pictures capturing HKV social’s tribute to him. In addition to the graffiti, there’s also boAt-e-Chaap and boAt-e-Kebab on the menu dedicated to the team. An emotional Aman Gupta wrote in his caption.
“Many companies have started from garages or most unlikely places. We didn’t have the money to afford a fancy office, and hence boAt too started from a cafe / the co-working space at Hauz Khas Social!
When we started our journey, I would have never imagined to see a graffiti and dishes (boAt-e-Chaap and boAt-e-Kebab) being dedicated to us. I felt overwhelmed, humbled, happy and shy all at the same time.”
Further thanking the restaurateur Riyaaz Amlani, he wished HKV social all the best and called it pivotal for his and his company’s growth. He also shared a picture of the smoky kebabs served with Pita bread, sliced onions and Pudina chutney.
