While Cannes is well-known for the prestigious film festival that takes place each year, it is a beautiful town in the French Riveria that is outlined by sandy beaches and grand hotels. The resort town is a great place to relax and chill in France and a go-to summer spot. The grand Cannes Film Festival takes place here every year and the city witnesses scores of people from around the world, all dressed up for the event. This year, the festival took place in the month of May and several Indian celebrities walked the red carpet. While Shakti Mohan wasn’t at the 22nd round of the Cannes Festival, she definitely knew where to be this summer. A talented dancer, choreographer and reality show judge, Shakti Mohan is a multi-faceted personality.
The three Mohan sisters have managed to make their mark in the industry by displaying their extraordinary talents in the areas of dancing and singing. While Mukti and Shakti are impeccable dancers that the Bollywood industry could ever have, Neeti Mohan’s voice has enchants us each time. Shakti Mohan is in Cannes at the moment and by what we can see, she seems to be a total foodie. However, the opposite is true. During several occasions in media interviews, the dancer has expressed that she is not a foodie and enjoys a simple vegetarian meal. In fact, she is a huge fitness enthusiast who likes to work out and eat healthy food.
Little did she know that we would catch her in her moment of indulgence. The dancer turned choreographer shared a picture of herself on her Instagram feed, eating an ice cream cone recently. A carousel post of three pictures shows us that the lady was enjoying her ice cream cone to the core, even though it was melting. The waffle cone seems to be filled with scoops of vanilla ice cream and Shakti poses with it while standing on a beach at Cannes. She captions the post with, “Cannes stop, won’t stop”.
Her goofy food pictures and witty word pun is making us drool and laugh at the same time. Since some parts of the world is experiencing really hot summers right now, here are a few chilled desserts that you can try at home.
1. Falooda
Falooda, for the unversed, is a chilled Indian dessert that is made with vermicelli. Vermicelli are translucent noodles which are usually paired with ice cream or kulfi. Dunked in a glass, along with sabja seeds, rose syrup, milk and vanilla ice cream, the dessert is topped with nuts, cherries and strawberry jelly. Sprinkle some tutti frutti on top and enjoy.
2. Shrikhand
Popular in the states of Gujarat and Maharashtra, Shrikhand is another chilled dessert from the Indian fare that is best eaten in summers. The creamy and thick dessert is made from strained yoghurt that is mixed with cardamom powder, sugar and almonds. Garnished with some saffron strands, they lend the sweet dish a distinct aroma.
3. Rasmalai
Full of ras or flavour, the soft flat balls made of milk, sugar and vinegar are dunked into a pool of sweet milk that has been flavoured with saffron. The chenna or paneer that is obtained in the process is what is used to shape the rasmalai balls. Garnish with some nuts and enjoy.
