The former doubles World No. 1 tennis player, Sania Mirza, might have bid farewell to the court, but her spirit continues to serve as an inspiration for many sportswomen. The Hyderabad-born sportsperson has recently decided to retire from her Grand Slam career, and the interesting part is that her journey has come full circle. She got emotional while giving her last speech in Melbourne, where she began her path to success.

However, when she returned to her Dubai home, Sania was taken by surprise as she walked into a house decorated with balloons and packed with all her loved ones, who were swaying the Indian tricolour flag and wishing the sports star on her commendable journey. Sania posted pictures from her farewell on her Instagram feed, and we saw that she was standing with her kid, nieces, and nephews near a table of cake. It was a big vanilla cake made to the gram that was covered in freshly whipped cream and looked delicious. Alongside this heavenly-looking delight were some buttery cookies on the side table and other baked snacks.

We aren’t surprised that this celebration featured yummy food because Sania is a hard-core foodie. Later, she took to her Instagram stories after returning to Hyderabad, and we saw her eating her favourite idli, dipped in a bowl of tangy sambhar. This classic South Indian combination that she refers to as "home" in her caption.
