Actor Salman Khan’s family came together to celebrate their father, industry veteran Salim Khan’s 87th birthday on November 24. Salim has been an actor, producer, and screenwriter, who has worked for a number of Bollywood films over the decades. He celebrated the day with a family get-together at home with Salma Khan and Helen, sons Salman, Arbaaz and Sohail, and daughters Arpita Khan Sharma and Alvira Khan Agnihotri in attendance.

While the celebration may have been a close-knit affair, the feast was no less than a royal one. Arbaaz took to Instagram to share a family picture, where the entire family was posing, with Salim sitting in the centre over a large table with the lavish feast in front of him. Take a look:

The spread sure looked tempting. On the table, we could see large bowls of non-veg biryani, a host of non-vegetarian curries, one of them being nalli nihari, besides a rice dish that looks like soya pulao. There was also a small bowl of green chutney, some yellow dal, onions and a snack spread across the table with other accompaniments. If that’s not a royal spread, we don’t know what else is!

We can’t believe Salman, who is usually on a strict diet, would have also indulged in the lavish lunch. But then the Khans are known to be quite the foodies, and this picture is a proof of the same. Every year, Salman cuts a massive cake on his birthday, while sister Arpita too cuts a two-tiered cake decorated with white icing on her birthday with the family.

The spread at the Khan household has given us some serious goals for a celebratory feast. And if you are wondering what all you can make, here are some popular Indian non-vegetarian recipes you can try.
