Reusable water bottles are handy for a variety of reasons. They aid in keeping us hydrated and are better for the environment. But the likelihood is that we might have all used those water bottles more frequently than we should have without washing them, which could lead to the accumulation and proliferation of unpleasant germs. Whether your water bottle is stationary on your desk at work or accompanying you to the gym, it is constantly gathering and fostering bacteria and mildew within its moist interior. This could eventually result in illness.

How Often Should You Clean It?

Do you occasionally put your bottle in the dishwasher, do a quick rinse, or what? That is far from frequent enough. It is advisable to clean your water bottle after every use, or at the end of the day if you have been refilling it repeatedly throughout the day. If left unwashed for a week, your water bottle will contain more bacteria than a typical pet dish, and after a month, the germs will have ample opportunities to propagate.

How To Clean Your Reusable Water Bottles?

• Use a clean sponge or bottle brush to cleanse deep inside your water bottle with soap and lukewarm water. Dish soap and warm water should be sufficient to kill germs; boiling water is not necessary. Make sure the sponge you're using is clean. As a breeding ground for bacteria, dirty sponges pose a risk of contaminating your water bottle further.

• Let your water bottles thoroughly dry after washing. If you need to use your water bottle right away, dry the interior by placing a dry towel on the end of a wooden spoon. Simply leave the water bottle's lid off and let it air dry if you have the time. All of the water bottles are dishwasher-safe, too. Place all the parts and lids that have been removed on the top rack. It's still a good idea to thoroughly dry your water bottle after removing it from the dishwasher.
