The holy month of Ramadan has begun and so does the time when devotees eat only twice a day. One, before their morning prayer, called Suhoor or Sehri, and second, after the sunset, referred to as Iftar. People observing fast during Ramadan do not eat anything for the entire day, many even skip drinking a sip of water. Therefore, what you eat for suhoor should be fulfilling, hydrating, and nutritious to keep your body running throughout the day.

Yoghurt And Chia Seed Pudding
If you want to eat something healthy, why not try a cup of pudding? Yoghurt and chia seed pudding has all the necessary minerals, vitamins, and protein that your body needs to function throughout the body while you observe fast. Yoghurt And Fruit Smoothie
There is no better way to start the day than with fruits and yoghurt. They make an irresistible combination that can leave you feeling satiated for long. Blend fresh fruits like bananas, peaches, berries, and mango with a cup of yoghurt. You will observe the concoction will have a thick consistency and a few lumps because of the fruits. You can either add fresh juice or milk to adjust the consistency and consume this delicious yet hydrating smoothie.
Yoghurt-Based Dips
Since devotees observing fast in the holy month of Ramadan do not eat anything throughout the day, they prefer to start their mornings with a hearty meal that can include egg paratha, kebabs, pheni, and sweets. Along with savouries, yoghurt-based dips pair well. They are healthy and amplify the flavours of any delicacy. You can combine yoghurt with hummus, make a tangy dip using crushed garlic, lemon juice, and mint, or add grated cucumber and garlic along with freshly chopped coriander leaves to pair with kebabs.
Yoghurt Parfait
Sehri is incomplete without a sweet dish. While ladoo and traditional sweets are popular among devotees, you can also try and prepare a sophisticated dessert, yoghurt parfait. It has a simple recipe in which you layer yoghurt in a glass along with nuts, fresh fruits, and roughly chopped pieces of a granola bar. Drizzle maple syrup or honey on the top and refrigerate overnight. This dish is packed with protein, vitamins, and minerals that will ensure you remain in the best of your health while fasting.
Yoghurt Rice
Popularly referred to as curd rice, the recipe of this yoghurt-based dish is quite popular among South Indians. It is lightweight, satiating, and easy to digest. Mix cooked rice with plain yoghurt and amplify the flavours with a tempering of mustard seeds, dry red chillies, minced green chillies, chopped ginger, and curry leaves. If you consume it in the morning, it will have a cooling effect on the body, which will help you withstand the scorching heat of the sun.
Raita
Raita is another yoghurt-based recipe that can be consumed for Sehri along with savouries. It completes the meal, keeps the body hydrated, and allows you to withstand the heat of the sun. You can either add grated cucumber to plain yoghurt or add mixed vegetables to it. Both these recipes excellently complement dishes like stuffed parathas, pulao, etc.
