The delectable korme ka Paratha or churi ka Paratha is a renowned speciality hailing from the state of Rajasthan. The lentil parathas are a delectable and nutritious dish that requires no additional vegetable accompaniment. Recently HomeChef Surabhi bhandari took to her Instagram and wrote, “Korme ki puri or moongori as we call it, is a paratha made from broken moong dal. The dal ka chura that is left after grinding the whole moong is called korma. We make delicious dhokle, parathe and khakra with it. The parathe can be stored for a few days and hence they are an excellent travelling snack too. They are best enjoyed with achar, dahi or just like that! Since no onion, garlic is required in this, it makes a very good Jain recipe too.. healthy and delicious, do try it and let me know!”

Here’s the recipe 

Ingredients:  

1 cup moong dal 

2 cups flour 

Red chilli powder - 1.5-2 tsp 

Haldi powder - 1/3 tsp 

Jeera - 1 tsp 

Salt to taste 

Oil- 2 tbsp plus for cooking 

Method:

Grind the moong dal to a coarse powder. Wash it nicely in a sieve and soak in some water for an hour. Add flour and masala to it and knead to a semi-soft dough. It shouldn’t be too soft. Take care when adding water as soaked dal will also have water. Divide the dough into equal size small balls and roll them into parathas one by one. Heat them on tawa and cook till golden brown. Add a dollop of butter or have it plain. Enjoy!
