There is no dearth of rich and delectable desserts in India but the one we are talking about is special. ‘Kulfi’, the frozen Indian dessert has a quite a huge fanbase and when it is summer, not having kulfi could be an offense. I don’t think there is anybody on this planet who doesn’t like kulfi. Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also enjoyed kulfi falooda during his recent tour to Uttarakhand.
Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw is recently in Uttarakhand for the launch of several projects including the much-awaited Delhi-Dehradun Vande Bharat Express. Amidst the busy schedule, the minister along with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and many other office-bearers took out some time and enjoyed the hearty dessert. Railways Minister took to twitter and shared a video in which he and Uttarakhand CM are seen enjoying the classic kulfi falooda. He captioned his video as ‘Kulfi’. In the video, the duo is seen smiling and relishing the delicacy at a local shop. Here is the video.
Kulfi is a decadent frozen dessert with a richer taste and even richer history. Let us tell you that kulfi has its root in the Mughal era and was earlier referred to as ‘qulfi’. Originally created using simmering milk for hours, Kulfi was flavoured with sugar and spices like cardamom, saffron etc. Then, the mixture was frozen in matkas that were buried in ice and salt. If some legends are to be believed, Emperor Akbar was fond of kulfi. You didn’t know this, did you?
