Drinking water is not enough to hydrate oneself during the scorching summer months in India. Several tropical summer fruits become a form of refreshment during these months. 

Drinks like coconut water, aam panna, buttermilk/chaas, lassi, shikanji, sharbat are the best to stay hydrated. Palak Raita made with onions and tomatoes is a simple recipe which is also visually appealing. Curd with rice is a classic South Indian recipe enjoyed during the summer months.
