The brother of the Seven Sisters of Northeast - Sikkim - arrives with its own array of flavours and delicious cuisine. A mix of Tibetan, Nepali, and Lepcha dishes, the Sikkimese cuisine adds to the uniqueness of Indian cuisine. However, it is not well-known.

Sikkimese cuisine is greatly influenced by tribal culture and hence uses spices to the minimum. The cuisine is very healthy owing to the rich use of home-grown and organic vegetables. As a state of meat-eaters, Sikkimese cuisine has a wide variety of meaty dishes as well.

If the names of Momo, Thukpa, Gya Thuk, Phagshapa, Sha Phaley are making you droll for a Sikkimese meal, you are on the right track.
