Method of Preparation Prawn Pulao

Cooking  Prawn Pulao is a process involving tempering spices followed by cooking vegetables and prawns and finally adding rice to make pulao.

Ingredients

  • 250g Big Prawns
  • 1/2 cup Curd
  • 2 tablespoon pudina mint leaves
  • 3 green chilies
  • 2 tablespoon Ginger garlic1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 2 tablespoon Coriander leaves
  • 2 Crispy Fried onions or Barista
  • 2 medium-sized Tomato
  • 1/2 kg Basmati Rice    

Spices

  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon Dhania powder
  • 1 teaspoon Jeera powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 2 elaichi
  • 5 Black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • Salt

Prawn Pulao Process 

  • Before starting the recipe soak the basmati rice in a bowl at least an hour previously.
  • Heat the pressure cooker and add 1/2 cup oil, add raw spices such as jeera, tez patta, black pepper, and elaichi.
  • Cut long tomatoes and add to the oil to saute for a minute.
  • To this, add two tablespoons of ginger garlic paste.
  • Add the other spices along with salt, and mix thoroughly.
  • Add onions followed by prawns.
  • To this, add coriander leaves and curd.
  • Mix thoroughly and allow the mixture to cook for five minutes while covering the cooker with a plate lid (This allows oil to separate on top).
  • After five minutes of cooking and separation of oil, add three cups of water.
  • Add three green chilies to this water.
  • Let this mixture cook till it boils.
  • As the mixture boil, add rice to it.
  • Mix thoroughly and allow it to cook in the pressure cooker.
  • Close the cooker lid for five minutes on a low flame (See till at least two whistles)
  • Open the lid as the pressure releases.
  • On the side flame, keep water for boiling, which can be used if water is less in rice.
  • Now, add mint leaves to this (A little boiling water can be added and cooked for another whistle)
  • Prawns Pulao is ready to be eaten hot.
  • Garnish it with fried onions
