Don’t they always say, “Early bird gets the worm”? Well, it is actually true because when you wake up late for work or college, you end skipping the most important meal of the day because you have no time for it. Grabbing that jeans and tying your hair in a ponytail and well, you’re out in a few minutes. This might give you an adrenaline rush but not for long. You tend to feel sleepy, drowsy and are inattentive because let’s admit it, we’re all waiting for that small coffee break, ain’t we? Working on an empty stomach until lunch is not such a good idea though.

The fast-paced, busy lives tend to leave us with no choice but avoid breakfast because well, we don’t have enough time to cook. But who says that you have to cook at all? No, we aren’t suggesting that you order in at seven in the morning. Why not make do with what you have at home? Make a quick on-the-go sandwich and you’ll be sorted until lunch. Not those heavy, grilled, meaty sandwiches that you would make on the weekend but cold sandwiches with limited ingredients and no cooking.

Yes, no-cook sandwiches are a thing and they are perfect for breakfast. Here are some easy recipes that you must give a shot and you wouldn’t have to be baffled about breakfast anymore.

1.  Breakfast Cucumber Tomato Sandwich

Slice some tomatoes and fresh cucumbers. Slather a slice of bread with some butter and top it with these veggies. Sprinkle some salt and black pepper and cover it with another slice. Dice it into a triangle and wrap it up in a tissue to be eaten on the way.

2.  Breakfast Mint-Coriander Chutney Veggie Sandwich

Keep a mint and coriander chutney handy. Prep it a night before and store it a jar so that it is available for a week. From potatoes to tomatoes and beetroots are placed on to the slice of chutney-covered bread. You can add cucumbers and onions too. Sprinkle salt, pepper and chaat masala for a tangy flavour and add another slice on it. This is a filling recipe.

3.  Breakfast Chilli Cheese Sandwich

For this, you can opt out of grilling it if you want. Cheese is grated, along with capsicum, onions, green chillies and coriander. The mixture is slathered on the bread and the sandwich can be tossed on a pan, grilled or eaten cold too.

4.    Breakfast Carrot Mayo Sandwich

Peel and grate fresh carrots. Add mayonnaise to it and sprinkle some salt and black pepper. Mix it well. Spread it on your slices and make your sandwich ready to be eaten on your way to work.
