Yes, we all love kebabs and there are numerous outlets and food joints in different parts of India serving some of the juiciest and delicious vegetarian and non-vegetarian kebabs. While the flavours and aroma are always enticing, let’s be honest, the portions have been a concern more often than not. Besides the cost of each plate of kebabs, foodies are usually dissatisfied in terms of servings when eating out. But fret not. We bring you some quick and easy ways to make delicious kebabs at home.

1. Use Mustard Oil

As you prepare to soak the kebab pieces in the mix of spices and yoghurt, never forget to add a dose of mustard oil. Go for raw mustard oil instead of picking used oil. Make sure, when using mustard oil, you coat all pieces uniformly to enhance the greasy effect of the meat chunks.

2. Marinade For A Longer Time

When you plan to prepare the kebab marinade, do so for a longer time frame. In fact, if you can leave the marinade seeping into the kebab pieces overnight, there could be nothing stopping succulent results from coming through. One tip to keep in mind in this context is that you need to cover the marinade bowl with cling wrap. Simply keeping it into the fridge will cause additional moisture to accumulate. This will not let the kebabs cook uniformly.

3. Use Soft Quality Cuts

When getting the kebab arrangements all done up, use pieces that are soft and thin. Do not use very thick chunks, as these could cause too much fibre as you bite. Get the cut right and make sure there isn’t any skin on top of the poultry you use.

4. Do Not Overcook

The one tendency you might have while making kebabs at home is that you tend to overcook the same. Even as you keep tracking the cooking progress, you tend to overcook the same. Do not depend on heat or temperature to give that restaurant-style colour to your kebab. Add some paprika or Kashmiri chilli powder for the best colour to come through in the kebabs.

 5. Avoid Charring The Kebabs

In order to attain a smoky effect, you might rely on some charcoal. However, never attempt to turn the temperature of the oven higher even half a notch to get a smoky colour or intense flavour. Trying to attain such results with heat could end up with you having charred kebabs on your plate.

Finish off those tender kebabs with the right chutney and salad on the side. Once you get to know the art of cooking kebabs perfectly, there would be no place but home where you would love to make these, again and again.
