Lassi is made by churning curd and thickening it to a cream consistency before topping it with extra flavors. Lassi can be considered immensely delicious with nearly any flavor, whether it's rose syrup, mango, kesar, or khus. There are several types of lassi, ranging from salty to sweet, and it tastes best when sprinkled with dry fruits and rose petals. There are various health benefits to including lassi in your diet. Lassi is a rich source of lactic acid and vitamin D, which can greatly strengthen the immune system, and including it in your regular diet can do wonders for your health. It makes the body ready to fight off a variety of ailments. Apart from that, over the years, numerous studies have demonstrated how important a healthy gut is for general health and well-being. Regular lassi consumption can support the development of good bacteria and inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria in your stomach.
The most popular beverage in Northern India is lassi. The simplest lassi is created by blending seasoned yoghurt with water. Salted lassi has its own unique following, despite the fact that sweetened lassi is by far more popular.
Ancient Indian manuscripts from as far back as 1000 BC include the earliest references to lassi. These sources include Ayurveda, which discusses the advantages of the blended yoghurt beverage and is literally translated as the "Science of Life." There is also an interesting fact behind the Lassi, which is related to Punjab. In northern India's region known as the "country of the five rivers," there was a spike in demand for semi-automatic top-load washing machines in the 1980s. The truth is that these washing machines were actually being used to make lassi, not because the people of Punjab had suddenly developed a great passion for their washing! The ingenious locals developed a small tweak to the washing machines to make them suitable. With the flip of a switch, vast quantities of lassi would be ready in a flash because the main drum was already loaded with yoghurt and water.
