After marvelling everyone with her looks and acting skills, Priyanka Chopra was one of the first Bollywood celebrities to bag lead roles in Hollywood movies and shows. After her nuptials with Nick Jonas, she settled in New York for good. And given the Punjabi girl’s love for good food, we weren’t surprised when she introduced the world to her very own restaurant in the city - Sona.

A one-of-a-kind Indian restaurant in NYC, serving progressive desi cuisine, this place has entertained several guests since its inauguration. While Priyanka keeps sharing yummy recipes and new menus from Sona on her Instagram handle, this time, she took us inside the kitchen itself. Giving us a sneak peek into ‘behind the scenes’ of Sona, the actor was seen holding an iron skewer that is wrapped with chargrilled pineapple chunks.

She calls it ‘steaming hot’ and ‘dangerous to touch’. She engages in a fun interaction with the chefs at Sona, Chef Harish and Chef Hari. The actor tries to involve herself in the process of how things are made and the functioning of the kitchen and requests the chefs to make her ‘competent’ in the kitchen. That’s when she was presented with a Burrata Butter Chicken pizza. One slice in and she can only utter ‘oh my god’.

Next up, we see loads of bhel on a tray and the chef tossing it in a bowl with a typical Indian seasoning. Upon inquiring about the seasoning of avocado bhel, she is amazed when she finds out that it is chaat masala. Priyanka confesses that she loves chaat masala. Finally, we see lots of golden fried bites on the upper stack and it is the Amritsari crispy fried fish, which again is one of the top foods at Sona for the actor.

The overload of delicious dishes is proof of the popularity of Sona in NYC, and is regarded as a great initiative by the Quantico actor to add Indian flavours to the global platter. Be it the fusion pizza, bhel, or fried fish and salads, the menu at this actor’s restaurant is quite diverse and interesting.
