Potatoes Should Be Cut Right

This may seem the easiest but is the trickiest step. Cutting potatoes in the right way is extremely essential. At the time of cutting potatoes, it is advisable to cut the potatoes in the thickness of 1/4th of an inch I.e., the ideal thickness. This thickness is what many restaurants and cafes use.  Try it!

Pre-Cooking And Frying

After the potatoes are cut, one should first boil these potato fingers in cold water with vinegar and salt. After boiling these fingers for around 6 to 7 minutes, it is advisable to take out these fries and keep them aside. Then, these boiled potato fingers should be dunked in hot oil and should be fried for around 30 to 40 seconds. Strain the excess oil and let them cool.

Freezing

As per some experts, after the semi-fried fries cool down, they should be stored in an air-tight container in the freezer so that they can set properly and attain a firm shape.

No To Defrosting

Before frying, many of us do a mistake of taking out the French fries from the freezer and let it defrost. Actually, defrosting the fries can make them sloppy. So, to avoid this, one should take the fries out of the freezer and put them into boiling oil. The potato fingers should be fried on medium heat until they are golden brown. Top with the seasoning of your choice and enjoy!
