Recently, television personality and cookbook author Padma Lakshmi also shared her own recipe of dal tadka at home, and it is one of those quick and easy recipes that you might want to bookmark. The recipe is perfect for those who are amateur cooks or are living alone. 

Taking to Instagram, Padma shared a video of her recipe. In the video, we could see her boiling yellow dal in a cooker. Then side by side, she makes tadka by sautéing onion, and gradually adds ginger, garlic, and green chillies, followed by masalas, curry leaves, and tomatoes. Finally, she added this tadka to the boiled yellow dal along with some spinach and served it with steaming cooked rice. Take a look at the video she shared:

In the caption of her post, she wrote, "Tadka Dal. Here's how I make one of my all-time favourite comfort foods." Doesn’t that look super delicious and wholesome? This protein-rich da tadka can also be paired with rotis, and you’ll have a complete meal to nosh on.  

Padma has gained a massive following on social media for her simple Indian recipes that she keeps sharing. A while back she had shared a quick and easy recipe of nimbu pickle, where she shows a step-by-step way of making the same.
