Do you remember the good old school days when we would take out Monopoly, business and Pictionary during summer vacations? The month-long vacation would be a respite from school work and a time of fun and frolic. While online games have become a rage now, board games were the OG method to pass time and avoid boredom. Friends would come over to each other’s house and play these games, while relishing snacks. Seems like Sara Ali Khan is reliving those days now.
The Kedarnath actress has openly shared her love for food when she asked people whether her real skill is singing or eating. She ended up getting the most votes for the latter and we aren’t surprised. On this note, we would like to show you something she shared on her Instagram stories recently. The actress from the royal family got her hands on a board game called catan and she seems to be enjoying it with her buddies. The highlight of the board game is that food found a place here too. Not just in the form of snacks, but on the actual board game. Here’s what the game looked like.
We can spot lots of foods on board game, there are peanuts and nuts in one hexagon while the other interconnected ones feature berries, coffee beans, gems and chocolates. Each hexagon is assigned a number, starting from 1-12. We are still trying figure out how this game is played. However, we do know that you would love some snacks while playing it.
So here are some easy snacks for your game night.
1. Thai Fresh Spring Rolls
These are very different from the deep-fried spring rolls that you usually have. The rice wrappers are used to make the spring rolls while the filling consists of proteins like shrimps and veggies like basil leaves, carrots, bean sprouts and more. These translucent spring rolls are easy to eat and totally non-messy.
2. Baked Zucchini Fries
Ditch the regular french fries for this baked version. The zucchini is sliced, tossed in breadcrumbs and baked instead of fried. This makes them dry, non-greasy and definitely a healthy alternative to the fries.
3. Roasted Cauliflower
Simply break open the cauliflower florets and toss them in a seasoning. Roast the florets in the oven. Toss them in a spicy seasoning once again. Prepare a cheesy and creamy dip to go with it. This crispy and cheesy snack tastes awesome with the dip.
4. Frozen Fruit Skewers
Amidst the hot and happening snack platter, find place for cool and chilled fruits too. Not only do they keep you cool from the inside, they add a sweet, tangy and fruity flavour to your game night. Frozen fruits like red grapes, oranges and strawberries are pinned on the skewer one after another. These look and tasty delicious.
