The Bachchan family’s festive celebrations are stuff of legends – much like the family itself! And in true Bollywood style, they ensured that the Holi celebrations were just as special. What looked like a celebration that took place in the backyard of the family’s home in Mumbai, was filled with colour, smiles and lots of good food. Navya Nanda, the grand-daughter of Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan, shared a few candid shots of the festivities that took place earlier today on social media and paid a tribute to the patriarch’s iconic Holi song – Rang Barse.

Amongst the glimpses she shared from the family-only affair, the social activist also posted a picture of a lunch table laden with delicious preparations. The menu, which included bharwan bhindi, a white chicken curry with chillies, a colourful summer salad made with cucumber, pomegranate and tomatoes, cauliflower sabzi, chhole-puri, paneer, mutton curry, naan and raita – looked all set to be dug into as everyone gathered around to eat. Navya also posted a colourful picture of an assortment of gujiyas – the traditional Holi dessert, which were decorated with silver varq.

Also featured on the dessert platter were malai khaja garnished with desiccated coconut, dried rose petals and white chocolate drizzle – all of which reflected the spirit of the festival. Immersing herself into the Holi mood, Navya had also shared photos from the night before where the family – including Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan were present to perform the Holika Dahan rituals.
