Of all of India’s political figures, none knows how to tempt the foodies of the internet quite as well as Nagaland’s Minister for Tourism and Higher Education, Temjen Imna Along. A food aficionado himself, he often takes to social media to show off places he’s loved eating as well as his skills in the kitchen and recently, he’s making headlines again with a charming video at a local eatery where he chips it to make an Egg Chicken Roll along with the staff.

The video shows Imna Along showing off his breadmaking skills as he artfully heats a fresh paratha on a tawa before dousing it in a layer of beaten eggs. He then flips it over revealing a perfectly golden brown layer before handing it over to a chef for the finishing touches of sliced vegetables, sauce and strips of chicken. While the meal comes together, there’s also a handi of freshly brewed chai on the boil and the video concludes with the minister sitting down for a simple feast and declaring, ‘Paratha egg chicken roll and tea, come and try it, it’s the best.”

He also puts his famous sense of humour to use in the caption as he teases, ‘To tell the truth, did you feel like eating? But I will not be able to feed in virtual mode, if I had come here it would have been different!’.

As a staunch advocate for sharing the wonders of his homeland and the unifying powers of food, Imna Along has gone viral on many occasions. Whether he’s whipping up a vada pav from scratch, relishing street treats like pani puri or indulging in feasts from other states like a Gujarati thali, he’s always ready for adventure and to share his experiences with the world.
