History And Origin

Amrik Sukhdev Dhaba's story began in late 1956 when it was started by Sardar Parkash Singh. It started as a small place to serve food to truck drivers travelling on the Grand Trunk Road. Over time, the dhaba became more popular. The name Amrik Sukhdev Dhaba comes from the names of the restaurant's founders, Sardar Prakash Singh and his sons Amrik Singh and Sukhdev Singh, who later took over the business. They turned it into the well-known restaurant it is today. Even though they upgraded the dhaba, they kept its simple, authentic feel while making changes to welcome more customers, including both locals and travellers.

Iconic Location

It is often said that an iconic restaurant is famous for its iconic location. In the case of Amrik Sukhdev, it is located on National Highway 44, which connects Delhi to Chandigarh. This makes it a very popular stop for people travelling on this road. Whether you are going to the mountains in Kasol or coming back from a trip, Amrik Sukhdev is the perfect place to stop for a tasty meal.

Why Is Amrik Sukhdev So Famous?

Amrik Sukhdev’s fame is largely due to its delectable Chinese, Continental, North Indian, and South Indian cuisine. The dhaba is best known for its wide range of stuffed parathas, a classic North Indian flatbread, which are served with makkhan. Whether it's the aloo paratha (stuffed with spiced potatoes) or the paneer paratha (filled with fresh cottage cheese), every bite is a burst of flavour when enjoyed with kulhad chai. The parathas are served with traditional accompaniments like yoghurt, butter, and pickles, which only add to the overall experience.

It’s a place where families, bikers, and road trip enthusiasts can all enjoy a satisfying meal together.
