From the pahadon wali maggi in Kashmir during her honeymoon to her workation grub in Sri Lanka where she devoured cheesy pizzas and spaghetti aglio olio. Until recently, she was in Istanbul and having the time of her life with friends and beau. There too, she relished several yummy treats. However, last night we caught her at her dinner table, with an almost empty plate of what looked like pasta to us and a glass of wine on the side. There was a slice of toasted bread peeking from the front of the frame and we’re guessing she was having pasta and wine for dinner.

Interestingly, this reminded us of how well red wine fares with white sauces. Looks like Mouni Roy knows her wine really well and got the right one for dinner yesterday. Since it’s all about wines today, here are some tips and tricks to pair wine with pastas.

Tips To Pair Wine With Pasta

1.    Creamy and white-sauce based pastas aren’t that acidic in nature so they work well with a lighter red wine like Pinot Noir or a light-bodied Chardonnay.

2.    When you’ve got lots of fresh vegetables in your pasta, you better enhance the taste with a floral Sauvignon Blanc or the like.

3.  Tomato-based pastas have acidic sauces and in order for the wine to not taste bland, it is best to serve a medium-bodied red wine like Cabernet Sauvignon.

4.  Hot and spicy sauces mixed into your pasta call for a dry white wine like Reisling.
