Mira Kapoor, wife of actor Shahid Kapoor, is quite the social media sensation, thanks to her foodie adventures. A vegetarian, she believes in mindful eating, without compromising too much on her cravings. Mira is often found sharing her tryst with cooking, eating, and her fitness mantras with her fans and followers on social media.

She has, in fact, carved a niche for herself over the years as a lifestyle influencer. We have seen her drooling over food every now and then, and her several posts and stories on social media tempt us too. A while ago, we saw her enjoying wintry weather with a home-cooked feast that included a bowl of Aloo Gobhi, some spicy Paneer Sabzi, mixed vegetables, Matar Pulao and chapatis. Mira has often expressed her love for homemade food. In fact, whenever she visits her parents’ home in Delhi, she indulges a lot in dishes made by her mom. Recently, she was in the Capital and was spotted noshing on the winter-special Gajar Ka Halwa and more, courtesy her mother.

And while going back to Mumbai, it seems like her mother packed in some love in the form of achaar. However, it created a bit of a stir at the airport during the security check. Mira took to Instagram to share the incident, which many of us can relate to.

She posted a photo of a pickle jar sealed with tape and secured in a ziplock bag kept on a table. Turns out Mira was stopped by the airport security for carrying the jar. "When you get stopped at the airport for carrying homemade, filled with love and winter, Gobhi-Shalgam achaar (cauliflower-turnip pickle)", she captioned the photo. Adding to that, she wrote, "You know you are as Punjabi as it gets. And then the official laughed...Achaar hai, jaane do (It's pickle, let her go)". Take a look at what she shared:

It seems like gobhi-shalgam pickle is one of Mira’s favourites. After all, both the veggies are a staple during winter, and they make for a versatile ingredient to use in cooking. If Mira has made you crave some too, we’ve got you covered with a perfect recipe right here.

This recipe also uses carrot - another popular winter ingredient that comes loaded with health benefits. Oodles of spices, a dash of jaggery and the goodness of carrot, cauliflower and turnip make this achaar a must-try. Click here for the full recipe. Try it at home and share your experience with us.
