Lassis are made with ingredients like curd, full cream, perfect balance of sugar, garnished with dry fruits and  a dash of cardamom powder to enhance the taste. Lassi belongs to the Indian Subcontinent and is believed to have been a popular drink in the Punjab region. The states of Punjab and Haryan are the most milk producing states and hence consumption of milk and dairy products also is high as compared to the other states. They are known with different names like Laasi, Lachhi, Taak, Chhah, etc. It is also called to be ‘an ancient smoothie’, in fact the first yoghurt smoothie known in the world. The concept originated around 1000 BC and started with fine fruits and seasonings. It consists of Ayurvedic healing properties and provides a soothing effect to both the stomach and the mind.

Health Benefits of Mangoes

Mangoes are known to be the ‘King of Fruits’ and people eagerly wait for the summer season to have mangoes. There are varieties of mangoes available all over the country. Ingredients:

1. 3 Mangoes cut in cubes

2. 1 Cup  Fresh Curd

3. 4 Tbsp Sugar

4. Dry Fruits for garnishing (Sliced Almonds, Cashew Nuts, Pistas)

Method Of Preparation:

1. Blend the mango cubes in a blending jar and make its puree

2. Now add curd, sugar and 10-12 ice cubes to the jar, blend it all together

3. Pour out the lassi in a big glass

4. Garnish it with dry fruits of your choice

5. Voila! The lassi is here to be served, enjoy
