The internet recently was flooded with reactions when a customer found a dead lizard in his beverage at a Mcdonald’s outlet in Ahmedabad. He had taken to Twitter to share a video and netizens understandably went berserk. This is one of the many bizarre incidents that we see on an everyday basis from around the planet on the internet.
We often see pictures or videos of amusing incidents shared directly by users online. Remember when a UK woman narrated the story of how her two-year-old managed to order 31 burgers from McDonald’s through a delivery app. He even paid for it online, but not without adding a tip for the restaurant. New on this list is another incident involving an online food order, but it is just gross and shocking rather than hilarious.

A verified Twitter user, who goes by the name of Sumit Saurabh, took to his handle to share the news that he placed an order for coffee online, and guess what he found in it? A piece of chicken in the beverage. Yes, you read that right. Take a look at the tweet he shared:
Sharing a picture of his coffee, with the piece of chicken clearly visible on the side, Sumit wrote in the tweet, “Ordered coffee from Zomato, Third Wave Coffee. This is too much. A chicken piece in coffee. Pathetic. My association with you officially ended today.”
Following this, Zomato reached out to him to try and rectify the situation. Sumit said that they tried offering him a free pro membership on their application and also stated that a similar incident had happened with him in the past when a restaurant sent him chicken biryani instead of veg biryani during the Navratri period.
“I am really upset with my experience, but I don’t want to take it further. I don’t know whose fault is this, but I got a good lesson. And I really hope that these portals take extreme care of this,” he wrote in his following tweet. Take a look:
Twitter users were left shocked over the incident and reacted with several comments. "How can chicken piece land in a coffee mug! What's the connection", asked one user while many others expressed that the incident was indeed the restaurant's fault and not Zomato's. A user wrote, "How is it Zomato's fault? So, when they pick up your order, they should put their finger in the coffee to check if everything is okay?"
Take a look at the reactions from Twitter users:
The restaurant too issued a clarification about the incident in a statement. "We would like to clarify that the order placed by one customer was for a Pina colada mocha. This is a flavored beverage that is garnished with genuine dehydrated pineapple slice which acts as an ornamental item and adds appeal to the beverage and is completely edible. Unfortunately, this was assumed to be something else and has resulted in unwanted grievances for us”, said a spokesperson from Third Wave Coffee, a popular coffee chain.
