Model, actress and entrepreneur Malaika Arora is perhaps the only person who can inspire us to sweat it in the gym and indulge in something greasy on the same day. Malaika who recently walked the ramp at Lakme Fashion Week, is currently in Chandigarh for another shoot. If you follow her on Instagram, you’d perhaps know that she is a big foodie. In fact, in one of her recent Instagram posts, actress Kareena Kapoor also left a comment stating, “Can’t see that burger and the dessert you have eaten 87 spoons off anywhere”. In a day’s span, Malaika has shared pictures of so many delish foods like chicken soup and cake, but what grabbed our attention was her desi, homemade Punjabi grub in Chandigarh.
In Chandigarh, Malaika was treated with ghar ka khana courtesy of her hair artist, whose mother cooked an array of Punjabi favourites, like the Maa Ki Daal, made with black urad and lots of ghee, then there was some Punjabi Kadhi Pakoda. We also spotted a casserole filled with Bhurji, a dry scrambled dish that is usually made with crumbled paneer or eggs, apart from this, there was halwa, salad, roti and rice too. “When in Chandigarh n @hairstylistmadhav2.0 mom pampers us with a home-cooked delicious meal”, Malaika wrote in her caption.
Did you know Malaika’s own mother Joyce Arora is a fabulous homechef as well, loved and approved by most of Malaika’s friends and peers such as Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. It would be safe to say that Malaika loves her food, but if it is “mom-made", it is bound to have a very special place in her heart.
Craving some delicious Kadhi Pakoda now? No, you are not alone. Punjabi Kadhi Pakoda, is a legendary dish made with yogurt, gram flour and spices that can make anyone drool, especially, if it has some deep-fried fritters or Pakodas swimming inside. Punjabi Kadhi Pakoda is best paired with rice, here is the delish recipe.
