Ingredients

  1. 2 1/2 Tbsp ghee
  2. 1 cup semolina, soaked
  3. 50 gms gud (soaked in 1 cup water)
  4. 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  5. A pinch of saffron
  6. 50 gms pistachio, sliced
  7. 50 gms almonds, sliced
  8. 4 tbsp shakkar / brown sugar

Method

  1. Semolina should be soaked for 20 minutes.
  2. In a heavy-bottomed container with hot ghee, add the semolina and toast it until it turns golden.
  3. As soon as the halwa reaches the proper consistency, add the jaggery water, cardamom powder, saffron, green pista, almonds, and brown sugar. 
  4. Stir continuously.
  5. Serve warm.
