Here's how you can make this delicious dish:
Ingredients:
•1 tablespoon of olive oil
•1.5 cups parmesan cheese (grated)
•4 cups cottage cheese
•2 cups mozzarella cheese (shredded and divided)
•24 oz. marinara sauce
•4 garlic cloves (minced)
•2 large eggs
•1 lb. Italian sausage
•1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
•12 lasagna noodles
•½ medium diced onion
•½ teaspoon ground black pepper
•½ teaspoon of salt
Method:
•Set the oven's temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. A 9-by-13-inch casserole dish should be sprayed with cooking oil. Place aside.
•A large pot of salted water should be brought to a boil. The lasagna noodles should be cooked as directed on the package, drained, and then set aside. 10 minutes or so.
•Make the meat sauce while the noodles are cooking. In a skillet over medium-high heat, warm the olive oil. Add the Italian sausage and onions after the oil starts to smell good. Cook the sausage for 5 to 6 minutes, or until there is no longer any pink inside. Cook the garlic for one more minute after adding it. Marinara sauce is added; set aside.
•In a bowl, combine the eggs, cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Place aside.
•Spread 1 cup of the marinara sauce on the bottom of the casserole dish before assembling the lasagna. The bottom is covered with four layers of noodles, followed by the sauce. On top of the noodles, spread half of the cottage cheese mixture. Over the cottage cheese, top with a half cup of mozzarella cheese. On top of the mozzarella, drizzle 1/4 cup of marinara sauce. Repeat the procedure until the top layer of noodles is reached.
•The remaining sauce should be applied to the noodles. Over the sauce, top with the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella. Bake the casserole dish for 25 minutes with the foil covering. After baking for an additional 10 minutes, remove the tin foil.
•Prior to serving, give the lasagna 10 minutes to rest.
