Because today I will tell you some tasty recipes made from leftover sambar. Yes, you heard it right.

THALIPEETH

Ingredients

  1. Green chilli - 2 finely chopped
  2. Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  3. Salt - according to taste
  4. Ginger - 1/2 tsp grated
  5. Wheat flour - 1/3 cups
  6. Tomato - 1 chopped
  7. Gram flour - 1/4 cup
  8. Curry leaves - 1 tsp
  9. Onion - 1 chopped
  10. Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
  11. Sambar - 2 cups
  12. Cumin - 1/2 tsp
  13. Oil - 1/2 cup

How to make thalipeeth?

  1. First, put the sambar in a vessel and stir it well.
  2. Now, add onion, green chilli, salt, cumin, red chilli, ginger, tomato and mix it well.
  3. After mixing well, add flour, gram flour, salt and knead it.
  4. Now in a pan, put oil on medium heat. Press the dough well with your hands like roti and put it on the pan.
  5. Fry well till both sides are golden. Then, tasty thalipeeth is ready to serve.

POORI

Ingredients

  1. Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  2. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp 
  3. Salt - as per taste
  4. Sambar - 1/2 cup
  5. Oil - as required
  6. Ajwain - 1/2 tsp
  7. Fennel - 1/2 tsp
  8. Cumin - 1/2 tsp
  9. Flour - 1 cup

How to make poori?

  1. First of all, mix cumin, turmeric, red chilli, fennel, salt, carom seeds with wheat flour in a vessel and mix it well.
  2. After mixing, add sambar, make a tight dough by kneading it well and keeping it aside for some time. Be careful not to use water in it.
  3. Now put oil in a pan for heating. In the meantime, prepare balls out of the dough and make puris in a round shape.
  4. Now, as the oil turns hot, add the poori and after it turns light brown, take it out from the oil.

FRITTERS (PAKODE)

Ingredients

  1. Green chilli - 2 finely chopped
  2. Turmeric powder - 1/2 spoon
  3. Onion - 1 finely chopped
  4. Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
  5. Salt - as per taste
  6. Potato - 1 boiled
  7. Fennel - 1/2 tsp
  8. Sambar - 1 cup
  9. Besan - 2 tsp

How to make fritters?

  1. First of all, put the remaining sambar in a mixer, grind it well and take it out in a vessel.
  2. After this, add all the ingredients and mix them well. Now in a pan, put oil to heat up.
  3. When oil becomes hot, fry the fritters (pakoras) until brown.
  4. You can serve tasty pakodas with your favourite chutney and sauce.
