Diwali is just a few days away and I am very excited to feel the festive vibes. Diwali brings a lot of happiness and enthusiasm along with indulgence in some sweet delights. When we talk about anything sweet, we just can't miss talking about chocolates. Be it a simple Cadbury or fancy Forero Rocher, chocolates have always been a delight and we can’t disagree on this. 

Another important segment of Diwali is exchanging Diwali gifts (my personal favourite). We always try to find some of the amazing things for gifting our friends and relatives. Orange Peel Chocolate

These may be unique to you but will remain forever in your heart. These orange peels have a coat of chocolate over them. Believe me, these fruit chocolates will impress your guests. Here's how you can make them. 

Ingredients

  • 2 onions (large)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 90 gm dark chocolate

Method

  • Start by washing oranges properly and cutting their top and bottom off.
  • Make 5 vertical incisions from top to bottom of the peel and the pulp.
  • Start carefully removing the peels.
  • Cut all pieces into thin strips and add them to a pan.
  • In the same pan, add water and let it boil.
  • After 4 to 5 minutes, drain the water.
  • Again, fill the pan with fresh water and repeat the process. (This is done to remove bitterness from the orange peels).
  • Meanwhile, take a pan and add water.
  • Also, add sugar and the boiled orange peels. Let them for 40 to 45 minutes.
  • When done, spread them into a wire sack.
  • Then, dip the peels one by one into melted dark chocolate.
  • Let them set in the fridge for an hour.
  • Serve

Bloody Raspberry Chocolate

Raspberry and chocolate could be the best combination you can ever have. These chocolates have a raspberry filling and taste amazing. You can shape it as you want but the taste has to be good. Here’s how you can make raspberry chocolates at home.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh raspberries
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tsp lemon juice
  • 80 gm chocolate

Method

For Raspberry Filling

  • Take our clean raspberries and make a puree of them.
  • In a pan, add sugar, pureed raspberries, and lemon juice.
  • Mix everything together and let them boil for 4 minutes.
  • Then, lower the flame and cook them on low flame while stirring continuously.
  • Continue cooking until the mixture turns thick. 
  • When done, remove it and let it cool.
  • Thereafter, melt the chocolate into a liquid consistency.
  • Take chocolate moulds and coat them with the chocolate syrup.
  • Let it for 15 minutes in the fridge.
  • Take them out and add the cooled raspberry filling.
  • Let them cool for 30 mins in the fridge.
  • Top again with the remaining melted chocolate and refrigerate. 
  • Take from the mould and enjoy!!

Paan Chocolate

This chocolate is surely going to give a perfect desi vibe and why not! Paan has a deep-rooted relationship with Indians and their food. Pan also captured the arena of chocolate and evolved into a very delicious paan chocolate. Follow the steps below and serve this paan chocolate to your guests.

Ingredients

  • 100 gm white chocolate compound
  • 2 paans (meetha paans)
  • Handful of dried rose petals
  • Pistachios for garnishing

Method

  • Start by grinding meetha paans into a crumb consistency.
  • Make small balls of the paan mixture by combining them together with hands.
  • Add chopped white chocolate to a bowl and melt it.
  • When done, take a hemisphere kind of mould and drop in some chocolate in each cavity.
  • Coat cavity walls and remove the extra chocolate. 
  • Let it set in the fridge for 5 minutes.
  • Cover it again with white chocolate and let it freeze for 20 minutes.
  • When done, garnish with dried rose petals and pistachios.
