Not gonna lie, the internet has become an inseparable part of our daily lives. Every single day we come across millions of stories- that can inspire us to go the extra mile to stories that can shock us. Needless to mention, our Instagram ‘explore’ pages are filled with food stories- from recipes to everyday meal plans and hidden culinary gems of the country, the internet is filled with info from the culinary world. One such story has caught our attention on Instagram. This video shows a bizarre practice to test the purity of the honey he is selling. Take a look yourself:

In this video shared by the Instagram channel @kolkatadelites, a street vendor is seen selling Kolkata's purest honey. As claimed by the food blogger, the man’s name is Kurban who collects, filters and sells honey in Kolkata. The vendor gives a honeycomb dipped in honey to the blogger to taste and the reviews are pretty impressive. He sells a jar of honey for rupees 500. Now, here ends the good part. The bizarre part here is the method the vendor uses to test the purity of honey. He adds honey to currency notes and lights fire to them. If the currency note doesn’t burn, then it is proved that it is pure. Bizarre enough? Well, the video was uploaded just two days ago and it has already garnered 1.3 million views, 54k likes and hundreds of comments.
