Every season offers different produce. Especially during winter, we get to enjoy so many vegetables like carrots, peas, radishes, cauliflowers, and turnips. You may see some of these vegetables in other seasons as well but believe me, that is not the right time to have those vegetables. Experts also stress on eating seasonal fruits and vegetables as they are fresh and when nature gives us a certain produce at a certain point in time, it is because of a reason.

This is one such vegetable that is milder than a beet and is heartier and more versatile than a radish, wrote Nutritionist Lovneet Batra in her Instagram post. In the Northern part of India, turnip or shalgam is a widely consumed vegetable. Not just it is tasty, but it holds ample health benefits.
