3. Salt helps in cooking the rice faster than usual. Add half a teaspoon of salt to the vessel while cooking the rice to make sure the grains welt properly. 

4. It is usually advised to cook the rice with the lid on it to retain the fragrance of the rice. 

5. Use a rubber spatula to stir and portion out the rice as jasmine rice is softer than the other varieties. Using a steel spatula will break the grains and make the rice mushy.
