1. Brine
The secret to a moist, juicy and flavourful turkey is brining. Brine the bird at least for two hours in kosher salt, apple juice, ice and brown sugar mixture. You can also brine the bird overnight in the same mixture.
2. Temperature
Turkey is usually considered to be perfectly cooked when it is at 165 degrees Celsius. We recommend you use a meat thermometer and cook the bird in the oven till it reaches 165 degrees Celsius.
3. Baste
Basting will give the exterior of the turkey a beautiful brown colour. Baste your turkey with a simple butter and maple syrup mixture and baste your turkey every 15 minutes in the last hour of cooking.
4. Rest
We know you are too tempted to cut into the meat but resist this temptation if you want a juicy turkey. Rest your turkey for at least 30 minutes for the juices to distribute evenly.
We hope these tips will help you get a juicy, flavourful and perfectly cooked roast turkey on Christmas. Do follow the detailed recipe and let us know how your roast turkey turns out.
